ICFA: Interim Welterweight Champ

ICFA is proud to announce Chris Farrington as the ICFA Interim Welterweight Champion. Farrington defeated a great opponent in Bryce Lee Jackson on the 22nd in what was an extremly technical and exciting bout. ICFA is planning to have Chris Farrington and Matt Anderson match up in April of this year to settle the argument of who is the best Amateur Welterweight MMA fighter in Ohio. We at ICFA cannot wait to host this event and are proud to have two competitors of this level compete for the title. New Beginning

ICFA would like to thank all of our staff, fans and competitors for another sucessful event, ICFA: New Beginning was example of the direction our organization moving at producing bigger and better events. The show was nearly sold out and the fights were some of the best we have seen in some time. A special congratulations is due to Matt Lanning on his win as he moves one step closer to his shot at a title match. Our next event is March 12th, 2010 - Shamrock Showdown 3. Upcoming Talent: Shawn Parker-Avery

ICFA introduces Shawn Paker-Avery, a future MMA talent out of Chillicothe, Oh. Shawn has only been training Mixed Martial Arts since November of 2009, however his ability to pick up techniques and disciplines quickly is allowing him to excel in the sport. Shawn currently trains with Fitness MMA out of Chillicothe and is a former collegiate linebacker. Mix that with his natural strength, athleticism and a desire to learn and you have the makings of a future MMA star. Shawn has interests in snowboarding, motocross, pretty much adrenaline junkie. Nick Eggers – Fresh Talent in the ICFA

Nick Eggers began his MMA training in 2007 as a junior in high school. Originally from Lancaster, OH, Nick had his debut in a Higher Power event while still participating on his high school wrestling team. Once he got the taste of the sport, he was hooked and elevated his training after moving to Columbus in 2008. Egger trains with a multitude of coaches to fine tune his game – his hands with Gene Steele ex- welterweight boxing champ, Jiu-Jitsu with Black Dragon, and Wrestling with UFC veteran Sean Salmon. Salmon opened S.S. Combat, an MMA training facility located on the East side of Columbus early last year and has been producing quality athletes ever since. Nick will be competin
